Most of us who live in the West need to cleanse our digestive system every 6 months or so, or every year depending how much processed foods we are eating. This is because majority of the western population do not eat a diet made up of lots of raw vegetables, whole grains, organic, etc. most of the time. In varying degrees most people consume foods that have been processed in some way or another which usually contain toxins, preservatives, food coloring, fillers of some kind and refined sugars. Unfortunately, white flour and refined foods is a huge contributor to poor digestion in the bowels.

Furthermore, much of the non-organic vegetables and fruits are sprayed with cancer causing pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, and fungicides that end up in your body, hence causing a toxic state that can lead to all kinds of diseases, hormonal imbalance and health issues. The foods you want to stay away from during a cleanse are all dairy products, all grains, corn in various forms, hydrogenated oils, alcohol, caffeine, peanuts and peanut containing products, sugar and artificial sweeteners, all citrus fruits except lemon and red meats, pork, beef, lamb, cold cuts, bacon and every kind of sausages.

An example of how this affects us is the effect growth hormones and antibiotics that are fed to our livestock, poultry and dairy animals impact our bodies, causing excess estrogen hormone levels to occur as we consume the animal products that are not naturally raised. This excess estrogen leads to weight gain or excess fat which again produces more estrogen from the fat cells. The progressive weight gain from this leads to insulin resistance which increases the risk of diabetes and estrogen dominance.

Avoiding food additives, medications, pesticides is the best way to protect your liver health and avoid overload.
Detoxification diets, just like other types of diets, vary in their approach. While some limit a person to filtered or distilled water for a day or two of fasting, others may have their own special concoctions (lemon juice, herbs, high fiber, others) and allow a narrow range of fruit, vegetables, nutritional drinks and vitamins. Some even advise laxatives, enemas or colonics in an attempt to rid the body of toxins. These diets can last several days or several weeks. Solid foods are often discouraged during the majority of the dirt, and are slowly reintroduced when the detox phase is completed.

The reason obesity might accelerate aging in your liver could have to do with an underlying cause of both weight gain and liver damage: fructose. You may already be aware that fructose the sugar found in everything from high fructose corn syrup and fruit juice to agave syrup and honey is harmful when consumed in excess.

This is precisely what most Americans do. However, you may be surprised to learn that fructose is, in many ways, very similar to alcohol in the damage that it can do to your body.

Many proponents of detox diets support the view that our bodies are exposed to and accumulate toxins in everyday life. This may occur from the foods we eat (highly processed or others containing chemicals, preservatives, hormones, antibiotics, etc.), liquids we drink (refined sugars, artificial sweeteners, chemicals, other additives), air we breathe (air pollutants), cosmetics we use, and the indoor or outdoor environments in which we live and work. As a result, they theorize the toxins end up accumulating in our bodies (liver, skin, hair, fatty tissue, digestive, lymph and other systems), leading to a loss of energy, health problems (acne, arthritis, depression).
Start your morning with a cup of hot alkaline water + Lemon + a dash of baking soda + 1 tsp of apple cider vinegar and colloidal minerals/silver for natural liver detox.
The health promoting benefits of lemons are powerful. For centuries, it has been known that lemons contain powerful antibacterial, antiviral and immune boosting components. We know that lemons are a great digestive aid and liver cleanser.

Lemons contain citric acid, magnesium, bioflavonoids, vitamin C, pectin, calcium and limonene, which supercharge our immunity so that the body can fight infection.

Lemons are considered one of the most alkalizing foods you can eat. This may seem untrue as they are acidic on their own. However, in the body, lemons are alkaline; the citric acid does not create acidity once it has been metabolized. The minerals in lemons are actually what helps to alkalize the blood. Most people are too acidic (from eating too much sugar and grains), and drinking warm lemon water helps reduce overall acidity, drawing uric acid from the joints.
Benefits that you can enjoy:

1. Improves your digestion:

Lemon juice helps your body improve digestion and stimulates bile production. Lemon juice can even be an aid for heartburn and indigestion.

2. Boosts your energy for the day:

Even just the scent of lemon juice has been shown to improve your mood and energy levels, and reduce anxiety. Plus the detoxifying effect and alkalizing effect of fresh organic lemon juice can improve your energy through the removal of toxins from your body.

3. Helps you to lose fat:

Since lemon juice helps to improve your digestive system, aids in removal of toxins, and increases your energy levels, this all combines together to help you to lose body fat as well through improving your hormonal balance.

This reduces the pain and inflammation which many people feel. And the American Cancer Society recommends warm lemon water to encourage regular bowel movements.

The fruit of the Garcinia Cambogia plant is a small, green pumpkin and is used in many traditional Asian dishes for its sour flavor. The skin, or rind of the fruit contains a large amount of Hydroxycitric Acid (HCA), which is the active ingredient that has been known to aid with weight loss. Only buy Garcina Cambogia that has at least 60% HCA.

Fatty Liver is More Dangerous than You Might Realize.

My doctor says I have a fatty liver and I should stay away from fat, writes this weeks house call. Are high-fat foods the culprit here? Any tips to help with a fatty liver?

Indeed, your doctor is right to feel concern: Fatty liver is a dangerous yet misunderstood disease. In America, it affects 90 million of us and 17 percent of our children.

Think about foie gras, the French delicacy made from duck or goose liver. It is made by force-feeding the animals a combination of sugar with corn and starch (a really sad, horrible practice), intentionally creating a fatty liver.

Fatty liver associated with brain shrinkage

Brain volume linked to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is equivalent to an additional 4.2 years of age for people in their 60s and early 70s or 7.3 additional years for those younger than 60.

Lead author of the study Galit Weinstein explained, “Liver fat may have a direct association with brain aging.”

It has already been shown in previous studies that those with fatty liver disease have decreased brain activity and greater thinking problems compared to those with healthy livers.

For the study, the researchers used MRI scans to look at the brains of 766 middle-aged men and women along with abdominal CT-scans to look at the participant’s livers. Eighteen percent of the participants had fatty liver disease.

The researchers also explored other risk factors that can contribute to brain shrinkage including menopause status, heart disease, cholesterol, diabetes, smoking, alcohol consumption, lack of exercise, and obesity.

Those with fatty liver disease had more dangerous risk factors compared to those without the disease. Even after adjusting for these risk factors, the researchers still concluded that those with fatty liver disease had smaller brains.

Weinstein added, “This is extremely important when it comes to brain health, because currently there is usually no cure for neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease. But it still remains to show in other studies that improvement in fatty liver disease is associated with lower risk of such brain diseases.”

“Fatty liver can be prevented by conducting appropriate lifestyle and diet. In turn, if one retains a healthy liver, his/her risk for other diseases, such as diabetes and heart diseases, is also reduced. In this study, we show that keeping a healthy liver may also be linked with a healthier brain,” he concluded.

How Your Liver Gets “Fatty”

Your liver becomes “fatty” when you consume too many carbohydrates (especially sugar and sweets) and when you over-indulge in alcohol.

So, to avoid a fatty liver, just follow these rules: Don’t overeat. Get regular exercise. And keep your intake of carbohydrate foods and drinks to a minimum. But that’s not all you can do…

There’s also a wonderful supplement called quercetin which can prevent a fatty liver and reverse the condition if you already have one. It also protects your liver from excessive alcohol consumption and hepatitis viruses. (I’ll tell you all about it in this Special Report.)

Recently, researchers fed a typical Western diet (lots of carbs) to lab mice for 20 weeks. They also gave half the mice a daily dose of quercetin and a remarkable thing happened.

After only 8 weeks, all the markers indicating a fatty liver decreased in the mice that received the quercetin. By week 20, things were even better. Their insulin levels were down. Their liver fat decreased. And they were losing weight, despite their fattening diet. This was really extraordinary!

Quercetin Turns Off “Fat Genes!”

The typical Western diet turns on certain genes in liver cells that cause fat accumulation. But quercetin turns them off and completely normalizes your genetic response. This means…

Quercetin is able to shield your liver from the effects of a bad diet and it even protects your liver from excess alcohol! Look at this…

In another study, researchers fed a very large dose of alcohol to a group of rats every day for 3 months. They also gave a quercetin supplement to half of them. Here’s what they found…

The animals that didn’t get the quercetin developed liver disease, while those receiving it were completely protected!

80 Million Americans Have Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD)

“That means about 1 in 3 people have excessive fat in their liver as well as their body,” says Robert Fontana, M.D., a hepatologist and the medical director of Michigan Medicine’s liver transplantation program.61

NAFLD could be an eventual cause of liver cirrhosis, cancer, and increased risk of dying of liver failure.62

A Healthy Liver Has Over 500 CRUCIAL Jobs!

The liver is extremely valuable. We might only survive a few days without it. It’s the central detoxifier for the whole body. It cleans everything your body needs, before sending it to the appropriate places. The liver also:

  • Filters toxins from your blood
  • Produces digestive enzymes called bile
  • Stores vitamins and minerals
  • Regulates hormones and the immune response
  • Helps clot blood
  • Adjusts cholesterol levels
  • Builds proteins for your body63

The liver has a focus. Anything you eat, drink, or absorb through your skin is taken first to your liver in the bloodstream. The liver then filters and ‘detoxifies’ any abnormalities. The liver also metabolizes and detoxifies drugs.

That’s the liver crash course. So if we want a clean, healthy, functioning body, we need a healthy liver first! The liver’s health can affect how you feel, how healthy your cells are, your skin, your energy, even your lifespan!

The 6 Most Common Causes Of Liver Damage That Cannot Be Avoided By Most Americans:

1. Medications

MedicineAlways listen to your doctor. Also, don’t be afraid to ask questions. Many of my clients in their 70s have been told that it’s “normal” to take 10 medications a day! After decades of medication, several of them now have fatty liver disease, among other health repercussions that I dare not scare you with. Medications have long term side effects. That’s one of the minor details that many patients aren’t told by their doctors for some reason.

Here’s a list of the most popular medications shown to cause liver damage:

  • Acetaminophen (Tylenol)
  • Augmentin
  • Diclofenac (Voltaren, Cambia)
  • Amiodarone (Cordarone, Pacerone)
  • Allopurinol (Zyloprim)
  • Anti-seizure medications
  • Isoniazid
  • Azathioprine (Imuran)
  • Methotrexate
  • Statins64

2. Obesity

ObesityIt could be worse than drinking. Most heavy drinkers develop fatty liver disease. However, the most common cause of liver disease is non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. When the liver can’t keep up with the level of fat and sugar in the blood, it stores its own fat. This is fatty liver disease, and can lead to cirrhosis, gastrointestinal bleeding, anemia, encephalopathy (abnormal brain function), liver cancer and eventual liver failure.65

3. Popular Household Chemicals

CleanersCleaners, cleansers, disinfectants, and even shampoos and creams are loaded with toxins that damage our liver. The New York Times published an extensive “whistleblower” exposé stating: Unlike pharmaceuticals or pesticides, industrial chemicals do not have to be tested before they are put on the market.”

  • If you haven’t heard: Nonstick pans and other cookware are loaded with a chemical called PFOA. A study in Taiwan found that “among 2,200 U.S. adults, liver enzymes generally inched up in tandem with PFOA levels, particularly in obese individuals.”
  • Liver enzymes are a marker of the organ’s functioning, and significant elevations in the blood can indicate liver inflammation or other damage — as seen in diseases like hepatitis and cirrhosis, or scarring of the liver.-Amy Norton, for Reuters46

4. Pesticides

Pesticides, herbicides and fungicides are used all over the world on pretty much every kind of plant, especially our food. If you think you can avoid them by shopping organic, think again:

    • A USDA report from 2011 proved that over HALF of Certified Organic produce had “harmful levels” of pesticides.66
  • The University of California in San Francisco (one of the premier medical schools in the US) found that a shocking 93% of Americans have glyphosate in their body. 67

5. Microplastics

PlasticsPlastics are everywhere. There’s an island of plastic floating in the ocean. According to Maria Neira from the World Health Organization:

  • “We urgently need to know more about the health impact of microplastics because they are everywhere — including in our drinking water” 68
  • Microplastics contain a toxic chemical called BPA. Texas A & M University health science center says:
“Even brief exposure in infancy to several industrial chemicals that are common in the human environment, particularly BPA, caused fatty liver disease.” 50

Great News: The Liver Is The Only Human Organ That Can Regenerate! 69

So let’s take a look at 4 unique adaptogens used to support liver health:

POWER DETOX PLANT #1

SILYMARIN

You might already know this “pesky weed”. It frustrates so many landscapers and garden lovers…

And it happens to be one of the most potent detoxifying plants on earth, used over 2,000 years ago by the Greeks.

The Greek physician and botanist Dioscorides wrote thousands of pages on the health benefits of silymarin as early as year 40 A.D.

Specifically, he knew the plant’s powerful liver purifying properties.

Today, doctors know the liver is even more important.

Modern science affirms – The Great Dioscorides was right!

After dozens of clinical studies, Silymarin holds the First Place Trophy for liver detoxification because it blocks toxins from the liver.55

Toxins from pesticides, plastics and chemicals might enter the body however…

Silymarin Shields Your Liver From Chemical Attackers55

Specifically, when properly extracted from the plant, the active compound Silybin covers the cells’ membranes in the liver, making it more immune to toxic build up.56

So go ahead… Celebrate!

Thanks to this ancient plant, your liver is fortified against the intrusion of “foreign invaders” of the Extremely Toxic Modern World out there.56

It also is proven to clean up and clear out liver toxins like acetaminophen (Tylenol), alcohol, radiation, and other liver toxins like BPA plastic.57

I’ll guess you are feeling more comfortable and safe now that you hold a shield protecting you against The Liver Destroying Giants, right?

Feel free to relax about your liver…

I’ll show you how to take a correct dose of Silymarin in your 2-minute ritual once you discover three more amazing detoxifiers.

POWER DETOX PLANT #2

Triphala

TRIPHALA

Triphala means “three fruits”. It’s considered “medicine of the Gods” in India. It’s been trusted by ayurvedic doctors for over 3,000 years.

And for good reason…

Legend has it, Acharya Charak the founding Father of Ayurveda once said:

“Once a doctor understands how to properly prescribe triphala, he or she can heal any disease.

-Acharya Charak, year 300 B.C.

Sounds like a tall order, right?

Well, Guess what…

Modern clinical study confirms: it can help cleanse, clean, and repair our liver.58

To silence skeptics, The Journal Of Aryuveda and Integrative Medicine published a double-blind clinical study concluding the ancient healing power of Triphala is 100% effective in protecting our liver from toxins.

By all means, take a peek inside the study for yourself:

Pre-treatment with Triphala extract at 100 mg/kg and 300 mg/kg body weight exhibited a significant (P < 0.01) hepatoprotective activity… gives an evidence of the protective role of Triphala extract against paracetamol-induced hepato-renal toxicity.59

In plain language that means, Triphala extract successfully protected liver cells and kidneys against toxins.

Because Triphala is such a potent superherb that protects our liver, that means it also helps balance hormones.

Because you are paying close attention here…

You already know what happens when your liver starts working properly again to balance your hormones, don’t you?

Scientific Clinical Study Shows…
“Triphala Could Help Lower Abdominal Fat”60

Yep! You start shedding unwanted weight.

A study conducted by The Biological Sciences Department at Birla Institute of Technology and Science revealed everything.

Because Triphala purges the liver of toxins, it resets our hormones, potentially reducing fat around our midsection.

From the study:

The present findings suggest that triphala and its constituents can counter the effects of an environment (ie, high dietary intake of fats) and have the potential for use as antiobesity agents with desirable lipid-profile modulating properties. Triphala and its constituents ameliorate visceral adiposity…
